Will be interesting to see how the Xbox One vs. PS4 will turn out, but I think PS4 might be more successful.. Good luck on your plan!
I am also interested in how this business works.
Some customers may have a loyal relationship with a specific product (either PS4 or Xbox One). However, if you clearly show the pros/cons for those products, customers can compare them and make a right decision.
The console, the controller and the games make up the main differences from which consumers will decide. However, the main reason for potential PS4 and Xbox One buyers is what their friends are going to buy or playing. Since there's never a such thing as cross-platform multiplayer, potential buyer will be refereed by their friend’s passion and feedback .
I have always been a loyal fan of PS, cant wait for the PS4 coming out. But on the other hand, Xbox is also exceptional, and has earned reputations, the clients may find it hard to pick which one of these two. I wish you luck with your research
Microsoft dug itself in a hole with mandatory internet access and no used games. Although they did change their business model after the backlash, I still think fans will remember. Should be interesting to see what happens on release, but I'm putting my money on PS4...
